I've been thinking about this for so long, contemplating on how to write it. One of the (many) reasons I have not finished it is because of the multi-function tool that is my computer. I do write on legal pads but not often enough. I like the candle idea, too. This one is hopefully the push I need to do this more in terms of writing. Thanks
I find it really hard to transfer from handwriting to computer tbh. The style is so different.
I don't use my typewriter for drafting much (it's awkward in a variety of ways) but it's a bit better for that.
I think the best I've got (other than secondary anchor tricks) is that when I'm super distractible I close every browser tab except the one I'm working in.
I hear that. I'm still finding the best routine/process for myself. I find my mind slows to a different pace when I write longhand and maybe changes my style.
I had tried to create a new user on my Macbook to keep distractions out and have a new blank desktop and such, but for some reason my computer was giving me issues when I did that. Might try it again one of these days or try closing ever tab like you suggested.
