I’m moving over the next couple of days, ill, and second guessing both of the two things I tried to write for this week, so I’m giving myself permission to phone it in with a discussion thread this week.
There’s a really useful concept called Positive Deviance, which is the idea that you can improve group outcomes by looking for unusual things some people do that seem to help them and figuring out how to spread those throughout the group.
So, this is a thread for doing positive deviance - comment to share some things you’ve been doing recently that have been life improving but that you don’t think are widely shared. Pandemic coping strategies especially welcome.
I actually just wrote out a Twitter thread of my ADHD coping strategies, some of which may be of use to others: https://twitter.com/pozorvlak/status/1300004629221183489 Potentially of interest even to those without ADHD - though I say in the first tweet "remember you have a medical condition, it's OK for you to do weird things to cope", that's mostly a "giving yourself permission" hack - as David says, it's always OK to treat your own problems as important and worth solving.
